Food For Thought: Acceptance Creates Transformation



So many people struggle with acceptance – accepting their bodies and accepting themselves – because the “diet and exercise” model says that you can’t.

Within the context of the “diet and exercise” model, it suggests that to accept something means that you wouldn’t necessarily have the motivation to do a “diet or exercise” program.

Acceptance in that model means failure. It means resignation.

And that’s why we struggle with acceptance so much.

But acceptance is not giving up wanting what you want. Acceptance is giving up the pain around not having what you want in this particular moment.

Acceptance is critical.

When you accept yourself and your body the way it is right now, you can open yourself up for miraculous change.
